6 Fasts of Shawwaal

أ لسلام عليكم ورحمةالله و بركاته

Is it permissible to keep the 6 Nafl Fasts of Shawwaal without having first kept the Qadhaa fasts owing (for a female)?

And also, for the 6 fasts – do they have to be kept on consecutive days?

Assalaamu alaykum

1. Although permissible, it is discouraged. Priority should be given to the Qadhaa fasts.

2. They do not have be kept consecutively.
