Medical Aid Claims

Medical Aid Claims

Aslm
Please kindly advise on the following:
A person goes to a medical practioner over a period of a month for counselling. The patient goes for 7 sessions but the counsellor claims from medical aid for 11 sessions. Her reasoning being that the medical aid does not cover her tariffs so to reconcile her fees she added on the other 4 sessions.
Is this jaiz?
The medical aid scheme now wants to hold a meeting with the counsellor over the 4 extra sessions she laid in claims for.
The counsellor has now contacted the patient to say that the patient must back the counsellors claims even though the patient has submitted to medical aid a detailed account of the patients stay in hospital.
Both the medical counsellor and patient are muslims.
Please advise!

Answer

Assalaamu alaykum
Such schemes of deception are not permissible, nor are they justifiable.
The patient concerned should be honest irrespective of the consequences. He /she should inform the medical practitioner that he/she will be speaking the truth.
And Allah Ta'ala knows best
