Accepting gifts from ghayr mahrams

In itself it is something permissible. However, one has to judge the circumstances. In many situations it may be frought with dangers as there may be hidden underlying motives. In such situations one should politely refuse.   Usually such circumstances arise where people freely intermingle with the opposite gender. Avoid the root cause and such circumstances will rarely arise.
