Attending a funeral of a non-Muslim

Hope mufti Saab is well.

Is it permissible to attend the funeral of a non-Muslim? Please could you provide a source/Ayah/Hadith to substantiate?

A revert friend of mine wants to know- what does she do in the case when a family member of hers passes away? She’s the only Muslim in her family.
