I would like to know what is rumi? its all sort of quotes and poems said by a person…was he a muslim?

Assalaamu alaykum

Maulana Jalaaluddeen Rumi was an eminent Aalim (scholar) of Deen, who is more famous for his outstanding contribution to and works on Tasawwuf. He was an outstanding Sufi.

His works, and in particular the Mathnawi, are often quoted by the Sufis. The Mathanwi is in poetic form in the Persian language, and contain much wisdom and advice.
