Making up missed prayers

Assalamu alaykum, I didn’t pray my salah for like three or four years buy it could be even more. I read that it is an act of kufr to not pray out of laziness so would i consider myself as not being a Muslim back then? The reason I ask is because I didn’t know that not praying out of laziness was an act of kufr so does that mean I was accountable for missing those prayers? If I was accountable then does that mean I don’t have to make up for those prayers? But if I wasn’t accountable do I still have to make up for those prayers even though I have repented? I know I have asked a lot of questions but I really need to know please

If a person left out Salaah due to laziness, this is a major sin. However, it is not an act of Kufr and will not take one out of the fold of Islam.

One should make sincere Taubah (repentance), and cover up for all the Salaah that was missed.
