Medication containing Bovine

Is it permissible to take medication containing Bovine?

Answer

Assalaamu alaykum

Bovine is a descriptive term that simply means "of cattle origin".

Any item with this description should be regarded as impermissible, unless it is positively established that it was derived from such cattle that have been properly slaughtered according to the Shariah.

Alternative medication should be sought.
