Mutual respect

A woman convinced her husband to tell his brother to be more respectable in his speech, as his brother can be terribly rude and shouts for no reason. She couldn’t bear to see her husband being treated like that. Was this permissible or is she wrong? Must she just keep quiet and not say anything? She does not want to cause problems in the family.

Mutual respect does not mean that issues requiring address should be swept away. Such issues need to be raised in a tactful and purposeful manner to ensure future well-being of the family.  The wife was not wrong is asking her husband to address such issues.
