Naming a Baby

Assalaamu allaykum Mufti Saheb.

Inshallah will be expting our first child in July.

Can Mufti Saheb please advise if there is any virtue in naming your 1st son Mohammed.

Can Mufti Saheb also share a few boys and girls names which should be considered.

There is no specific virtue.

Keep simple names of the Ambiyaa (alayhimus salaam) or Sahaabah (radhiyallahu anhum). Avoid exotic names. Have the intention that child develops the qualities of the personality after whom he is being named.
