Qasr

I am interested in the source of the view point ie that you are a traveller as soon as you leave home and Qasr Salaat is offered even if you have not covered the ~70km. For example if we leave home and go to the airport and it is Salaat time there we would offer Qasr Salaat though the distance travelled is less than 70 kms.

اللباب في شرح الكتاب - (ج 1 / ص 53) (ومن خرج مسافراً صلى ركعتين إذا فارق)؛ أي جاوز (بيوت المصر) من الجانب الذي خرج منه

It is mentioned in the book of fiqh called Lubaab fi sharhil kitaab (and other works) that a person who has left the built-up area of his hometown with the intention of journey should begin reading two rakaats fardh instead of four.
