Respecting the Bible

As muslims do we have to have respect for the current bible?

Assalaamu alaykum

We don't hold it in any special value and reverence. At the same time we should not show contempt and disdain towards it. It does still contain a few true teachings of Nabi Isa Alayhis Salaam amongst the many lies. So, for example, we wont throw it on the floor, but we similarly wont hold it to our heart or kiss it.
