Sajdatut Tilaawat

Salam, I’d like to know whether hanafi jamaatis would be required to perfom the Shafee Sajda in para 17 behind a Shafi imaam
And vice versa for the hanafi Sajda

Answer

ASSALAMU ALAIKUM

The Hanafi muqtadis  will follow the Shaafi’ Imaam in making Sajdah even if according to the Hanafi Math-hab the aayat is not a Sajdah Tilaawat verse. However, if the Imaam is a Hanafi, then Shaafi muqtadis may not follow him in making Sajdah if it is not a Sajdah aayat according to the Shaafi’ Math-hab. Shaafi muqtadis should remaining standing.
