Salaah

اٍُلسّلاٍْمّےُعًلٍّيكْم وًٍرحٍمْـُﮧاللّـﮧوًبٍرّكًاٍتُـٍّﮧ
Moulana is it permissible to make duaa with the imaam when he makes duaa in witr salaah?

Is it permissible to read the dua before salaam in english if one does not know the arabic?

Answer

Assalaamu alaykum

1. According to the Hanafis, the Imaam makes the Dua in witr softly. The followers will make their own Dua softly.

2. No part of the Salaah may be in English. Therefore if a person does not know arabic, he/she should simply repeat Alhamdulillah or Subhanallah.
