Scarf

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَركَاتُه

Husband forces wife to wear scarf in the home. There’s no one but the 2 of them.

How should she represent that this is not necessary?
Or is it necessary?

Assalaamu alaykum

There are two angles to consider.

As far as the wife is concerned, she should submit to the husband's demand. As long as the husband makes a permissible request, the wife must obey. This is her means of gaining immense reward.

As far as the husband is concerned, he should understand that there is no injunction of the Shariah to be so strict and hard. It is permissible for the wife to be bare-headed in the home when there is no one else present. However, even then too, it would be better for the wife to have her head covered. Someone should politely educate the husband regarding this issue.

She could  share this answer with him so that he also learns.
