Sharing utensils with non Muslims

السلام عليكم و رحمة الله
Kindly advise on the following:
There is a Muslim girl who is boarding at a student house. Is she allowed to share pots/pans, crockery and utensils with her non-Muslim housemates?
Would it be fine for her to wash them beforehand or does she need to use utensils separate from theirs?
Kindly explain in detail as she is a revert and wants to be educated on this matter.

Assalaamu alaykum
It will be permissible to use such utensils provided they are washed in a manner that no trace of any Haraam food remains in the utensil.
However, it would be advisable and more precautionary to use her own separate utensils.
