Short Sleeve Kurta

Short Sleeve Kurta

Assalaamu allaykum mufti saheb.
Duas you are well.

I have been living in Durban for around 2 and half years now and still haven’t adjusted to the weather. I feel extremely hot and get very agitated in long sleeves.

My question is the ruling when it comes to salaah, generally i wear long kurtas but have to keep my sleeves folded up. On weekends and during the evenings i use short sleeve kurtas.
If my sleeves are folded down i get very uneasy during salaah and have no concentration.
Is it allowed to use short sleeved kurtas or for me to have the skeeves folded up.

Jazakallah kheir.

Answer

Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh
Your email below refers.
It is makrooh (reprehensible) to wear short sleeves in Salaah, or to fold one’s sleeves and then perform Salaah.
Lack of concentration also deserves remedy.
However, if it is a genuine interference in one’s Salaah, and one has no other option, then it may be adopted it as the lesser of two wrongs.
And Allah Ta’ala knows best.
Was salaam
