Staying with In laws

Assalaamu alaikum

Can Mufti saheb please advise on the ruling regarding a lady staying at home with her mother in law and step father in law whilst her husband is away? Is this allowed since the step father in law is not a mahram? Or should she rather stay with her parents during this time?

Answer

Assalaamu alaykum

If the mother in law is present, it is permissible for her to stay with them. However, she may not stay alone with her father in law.

Staying with her parents will be better, if circumstances permit.
