Taking of Husband’s Surname after Marriage

Could Mufti saheb please clarify what the islamic stance is on a woman taking on her husbands surname after marriage. Is it preferable for her to change it officially or to keep her maiden surname.

Both are permissible. From an Islamic perspective there is no single preference on this issue.
