Assalaamualaikum

Kindly advise with regards to women going to the funeral home.

Do the women have to remain there until the mayyit has been lifted, will it suffice if they sit just for a limited period, or ideally, should they remain in their own homes and go later- within the 3 day period to offer their condolences?

Due to the intermingling that is common, it would be best to visit the family at some other time to offer condolences. It is not necessary to be present when the mayyit is present.
